Different ways of Shining |
|
EOS 1DMkII EF 80-200mm 2.8 L My son had an appointment in Brussels , so I took the opportunity to look around dowtown while he was busy . Heavily crowded as usual , the Rue Neuve was the place to see some nice musicians at work . Since the recent extension of the EEC to the Eastern European Countries , lots of people come to the Western main towns with the hope to find the Lost Eden . But ... life is much more expensive here and job opportunities scarce , so they need to help theirselves to survive by performing in the streets . I liked to listen to their music which sounds really refreshening compared to all the Techno around ... One of those gentlemen played Gypsy music on his own and one could see from his facial expressions how much of his heart he put in playing it . Undoubtly trying to heal some home sickness . The other individual who retained all my sympathy is the man with his dog . It was raining and cold . He was sitting there , outside , and dispite his own misfortune and having obviously cold , his main concern was to keep his best friend dry and cosy . All these men shine ! On the other hand , I was near to the Galleries de la Reine and went inside to wait for the rain to stop . Such a different world ! Only wealthy people and tourists to visit the very expensive shops around . So much luxury . So exclusive .So far from the real world . I couldn't help thinking that all that glitters is not gold .... |
