RAW , all the pix of the memorial taken at f 2 , hence the purple ftinging on some vues . This never happened with another body than the 1DMkII . 

The Mardasson is a memorial to the U.S.A. to thank them to have taken part to the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of Belgium. The memorial is build like a star.The center is a circle and there are 5 aisles .The name of the States of America are written on it, as an explanation of the battle.
On the top of this memorial which can be accessed via stairs on each aisle , you can see orientation tablex which help to explain and understand  the battle.
The 4th of July 1946, some little piece of ground of the center of Mardasson was sent in a box to president Truman.

The last « Borne de la voie de la Liberté » is just near the Mardasson. There is one at each km from Ste Mère Eglise.
One stands near the Sherman Tank on the « Place Mc Auliffe » at the crosscroads between Clervaux-Wiltz-Arlon-Marche.
