The Chinese Pavilion and The Japanese Tower
The Royal Park is home to two unique monuments :  the Chinese Pavilion and  the Japanese Tower. King Leopold II  had  visited the 1900 universal Exhibition in Paris and enjoyed himself so much he decided that he wanted exotic monuments in his Royal Park. The Parisian  architect Alexandre  Marcel  constructed  the two unusual  monuments for him. Chinese  porcelain from  the 17th and 19th century  and  Japanese  art  objects are   on  display  at   these  magnificent  structures  at   Van Praetlaan/Avenue  Van  Praet  44.
