My D30 Workflow |
|
by Wheelie EOS D30 |
| After using
and enjoying my D30 for 1 year , I thought upgrading to the D60 would
spoil my photographic experience . Not so ...
The D60 was an excellent camera from the point of view of the ' image taker ' but , too many bugs and shortcomings made my experience with it more a desillusion than an improvement . No doubts , the Err 02 , files not written to the CF , impossibility to AF with all the 5 lenses I owned , were particular to my very own sample .Nostalgia about my wonderful D30 , made me decide to return to the future and get another D30 . A 3MP picture is better than no 6MP picture at all ...The only D60 features I regret are the larger buffer and it's better ability to handle long exposures . I'm happy again and want to share my D30 workflow with those of you who could be interested . Workflow I use : All my shots are RAW . Converting to Tiff 16 Linear , thanks to Yarc+ . Color Profile and conversion with Fred Miranda's D30 LP Batch Pro ( High Saturation - No Sharpening ) or with Pekka's Linear Sharpen 3.42 ( 100-200 chooser - convert high sharpening HQ and After Shave 1 ) Adjustment of Contrast , Levels and Curves Use of the Velvia action to enhance colors if necessary Sharpening with the CS Pro action ( set to High ) if use of Fred's LP Batch Pro For web publication I use Fred's Frames action ; For printing on my Epson 1290 , I upsample my images to 11/17 ' at 300dpi or 13/19 at 300dpi using Fred's SI Pro action . or Michael Thomas Mitchell's print actions . All the actions run very fast and the workflow is straightforward . See also my CRW conversion page and Pekka's new LinearSharpen D60 beta converter
