Linear Sharpen D60 beta by Pekka Saarinen |
Following his famous LS action for the D30 , Pekka , spoils the D60 users with a similar action .
It's an incredible tool that allows lots of adjustments . Very well done and immensely useful .
This beta version is so elaborated , I can't wait to try the definitive version !
Pictures below : D60 - Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 - ISO100 - RAW - AWB
CRW files converted to Linear 16bits Tiff with Yarc+
Linear 16bits Tiff files converted with LS D60 beta
What's even better , this action works also with the D30 ! The only restriction I've found so far is not to use the sharpening options
which seems to be designed for the D60 only .
To sharpen my pics after running LS , I use Michael Thomas Mitchell's UltraSharpen action .
A combination that produces very rewarding results .
I also tried the setting Medium Strong in LS , which seems to oversharpen a bit .
Samples below are from D30 files - Canon 70-200mm L 2.8 - ISO100 - RAW- AWB
Low Winter sun , approx 1 hour before sunset , hence the very warm color .
1st row : Using Michael Thomas Mitchell's UltraSharp
2nd row : Using Pekka's Medium Strong setting .
For both : only Auto Contrast in PS and Saturation adjustment in LS
