PowerShovel-II:
|
A raw conversion program with
integrated sharpening and color profiling, that is NOT based on
the Canon conversion dll. It can handle files of Canon PowerShot
S30, S40, S45, G2, G3 and Canon EOS D30 and D60. However the
included color profile is fine-tuned for the PowerShot G2 and
S40. For the other camera's the profile is acceptable but can be
updated by the user to his own ICC color profile (instructions
in the readme.doc).
The D30 user has also to choose the "Keep Highlight
option" as described in the readme.doc.
A special feature is just the "Keep Highlights"
option, that you don't find elsewhere! With a special algorithm,
I rescued a maximum of the highlights (example in the
readme.doc), but you have to fiddle with "redclamping"
parameter until it fits your need.

Features:
Version 1.23:
- White balance of 10D now read
out correct for camera setting custom, shade and color
temperature.
- Larger thumbnail view.
- Larger image view in the
'neutral picker' window.
- For non-10D users, it has no
sense to update, unless you like bigger views.
Version 1.22:
- Support for the 10D.
Restriction : Michael notified me that custom white balance
setting is not recognised.
- Support for the PowerShot S50
with the same restrictions as were known for the S45 (so
camera white balances aren't recognised at all).
- Added a few settings in the
option 'KeepHighlights', so that you can tweak the result
until you are more or less satisfied.
- The optimal setting is
different for every camera, for every color profile and
even for every image. So the default that was taken in
the previous versions was not optimal for all cases.
Restriction : It is always making a balance between
adding green to overcome the magenta cast, and not
adding green to avoid that deep blue sky turns into a
cyan colored or posterised sky. So on images where you
have only blown out faces, you can easily find a good
solution. But on images where you have a deep blue sky
and burned out skintones, it is possible that you can't
find the wanted quality. In that case I advise to take
two conversions, each optimised for one part of the
image. Then bring both into the same image in photoshop
(in a different layer : you can do that in Photoshop
even in 16 bits, by dragging the history state of on one
image into the other image) and then use the history
brush to hold the best of both conversions.

Photoshop Camera Raw & JPEG 2000 plug-in bundle |
| The Adobe®
Photoshop® Camera Raw & JPEG 2000 plug-in bundle helps you
enhance and streamline the interaction between your digital
camera and Photoshop 7.0 software, your digital darkroom.
The
Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in provides fast and easy access
within Photoshop software to the proprietary "raw"
image formats produced by many leading professional and midrange
digital cameras. By working with these "digital
negatives," you can achieve the results you want with
greater artistic control and flexibility while still maintaining
the original "raw" files.
The Adobe
JPEG 2000 plug-in lets you open and save files that comply with
the latest industry-standard file format. The JPEG 2000 format
provides a variety of compression options that allow for optimum
trade-offs between file size and image quality. With the Adobe
JPEG 2000 plug-in, you'll be prepared as this format gains
wider use in digital cameras and on the Web.
Note: The
Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in will be included as part of a
future version of Adobe Photoshop. Adobe does not promise the
long-term availability of this plug-in for standalone purchase.
Your purchase of the plug-in does not entitle you to discounts
on future upgrades of Photoshop.
