I was born in 1952 in Brussels and I now live in a small town in Flemish Brabant , Belgium . Beside other jobs , I was professionaly active in photography in as various domains as fashion photography, E6 lab and technical management for a professional black & white lab . Being retired because of disability since some years now, I had abandonned photography as it seemed impossible to take good pictures from a wheelchair . Some people I 'met' in the newsgroups were kind enough to help me developping interest in still digital photography . I can't thank them enough as it allowed me a new approach to making pictures . The electronic darkroom offers also infinite hours of fascinating activities . I started with low end cameras before to make a great step into quality and satisfaction with the Canon Pro70 . I, thereafter , had the opportunity to put my hands on one of the first Canon G1 available in Belgium . After having had a really wonderful experience with my G1 , I upgraded to the Canon D30 . Now , almost 1year and 7700 pictures later , I'm definetely sold to my new toy ! Well , it had to happen .... Another great love had to go to make place for a new experience . This 22nd May 2002 , I received my D60 . I sold my D60 this 15th November . Wanted to buy a 1D . Thougt twice and bought a D30 . And some L lenses as well.... Got very disapointed with the black & white abilities of digital vs. analog . The D30 found a new good home on 25th January as did my Epson 1290 . I bought a piece of Canon's EOS archeology , the Eos 600 . I'm happy I can go to black work again and put my hands in developper and manipulate real baryte paper . After the actual pixel run will have settled down , I'll come back to digital . Let's see what will happen .... The 10D arrived on 27th March 2003 . Quiet , fast and very handy . We divorced this 9 October . Not because of the camera but maybe , something else is coming... Anyway , I can well take benefit of a break . Got a fine ' End of Reign ' deal on the 1D .Price drop and rebate from Canon made it possible to fulfill a dream . This is 11th October 2003 . Today , 14th January 2004 , I sold the 1D . Seems its successor is knocking on the door . 20th February : decided the 1D MarkII will have to wait for a while . I ordered a new 10D . Although the new 1D seems to be the ultimate dslr , I'm not going to wait some more months before to photography again . 20th March : sold the 10D . Waiting for the 1D MarkII to be delivered . Not sure yet if it will fill the bill . Not long to wait to know from now . 26th April : Tired of the unknown delays to get a 1D MarkII . I cancelled my order and wait for my 3rd 10D to be delivered . It arrived on 28th April and , hopefully , will be part of the household for a while .... 26th June . Took delivery of the 1DMarkII that I ordered yesterday . Battery is charging .... 10D went to a new home for new adventures . 26th June again , but 2006. Sold the 1DMkII and bought a 30D . August : sold the 30D to buy another 1DMkII . Missed the AF and the solid feel of it . September 2007 : bought another 1DMkII December 2007 : sold the 1DMKII and acquired an almost new 10D . As age goes on , I give a priority to lightness and ease .
